I'm Deborah Rhodes, an independent artist with a lifelong passion for fine art. From my base in Bedfordshire, I create and sell high-quality prints, specialising in realism, watercolour and oil. Though I operate online, my work is deeply personal and rooted in a rich creative journey that spans decades.
Art has always been at the heart of my life. I began drawing and painting as a child and have never stopped creating. My formal training took place at the Art Students League of New York, a formative experience that helped shape my techniques and artistic voice.
Since then, I’ve lived and worked in London, Paris, Edinburgh, New York, and along Florida’s Gulf Coast, each place leaving its own mark on my work. These diverse landscapes and cultures influence the atmosphere, composition and colour palettes that characterise my collections.
Every piece starts with a story. I begin with hand-drawn or hand-painted artwork, then move into the digital realm, vectoring each element and composing them into seamless repeats.
Although I often start with a colour palette informed by the subject, I allow the work to evolve naturally, making changes as the design develops. My goal is always to strike a balance between the integrity of traditional techniques and the possibilities of modern design.
All the designs you see here are available as prints and can also be licensed or purchased outright. I offer options for recolouring and rescaling to suit your specific needs, and I’m happy to take on commissions if you’re looking for something bespoke.
